CTET Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2015

Central Board of Secondary Education Organized Central Teachers Eligibility Test on 20.09.2015 at various Exam Centers. CTET is conducted for appointing teachers at primary (Class I to V) and upper primary level (VI to VIII).

CTET 2015 Important Dates

Notification for CTET Exam will be released on – 20.06.2015

Online Application Form Filling Starts from – 30.7.2015

The last date for filling of application form – 19.08.2015

Last date for payment of application fees – 20.08.2015

Admit card will be available from – 04.09.2015

Exam Pattern & Syllabus of CTET 2015

Exam of CTET is a 150 marks paper each with minimum passing marks for individual paper is 60% i.e. 90 marks out of 150.Exam consists of 2.5 hours.

Paper I – Primary Level

It consists of five sections carrying equal marks.

(i) Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 Questions, (1 mark each). This is bifurcated into the following three main sections –

(1)Child Development – 15 questions

(2)Inclusive Education & Special Needs Children – 5 questions

(3)Learning and Pedagogy – 10 questions

(ii)Language I – 30 question

(a)Language Comprehension – 15 questions consisting of two passages (one prose and one poem).

(b)Pedagogy of Language Development – 15 questions

(iii)Language II – 30 question

(a)Language Comprehension – 15 questions (two unseen passages)

(b)Pedagogy of Language Development – 15 questions.

(iv)Mathematics – 30 questions. This is bifurcated into the following two broad sections.

(a)Course Content Till VI – 15 questions

(b)Pedagogy – 15 questions

(v)Environmental Studies – 30 questions. This is divided into the following two broad sections –

(a)Course Content upto class VI – 15 questions.

(b)Pedagogical Issues- 15 questions

Paper II – Upper Primary Level

It consists of four sections. The fourth section which is either Mathematics & Science or Social Sciences is for 60 marks.

(i)Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 Questions, (1 mark each).

This is divided into the following three broad sections-

(a)Child Development – 15 questions

(b)Inclusive Education & Special Needs Children – 5 questions

(c)Learning and Pedagogy – 10 questions

(ii) Language I – 30 questions

(a)Language Comprehension – 15 questions consisting of two passages (one prose and one poem).

(b)Pedagogy of Language Development – 15 questions

(iii) Language II – 30 questions

(a)Language Comprehension – 15 questions (two prose passages)

(b)Pedagogy of Language Development – 15 questions.

(iv) Mathematics/Science/Social Science (Any one) – 60 questions. This is divided into the following two broad sections.

(a)Course Content upto class IX – 40 questions

(b)Pedagogy – 20 questions.

  • Candidate has to first visit the official website of ctet.nic.in
  • Then Search for Syllabus & Exam pattern of “CTET Exam 2015”.
  • Syllabus & Exam pattern of CTET will appear on the Screen Subject wise.
  • Download the Syllabus available in PDF Format and save it.
  • Take Print out of the Syllabus for future correspondence.
