MP Board 12 class General English Exam pattern

MP Board exam of 12th standard include various subjects.Exam pattern of MP Board XII Class General English will be as defined- MP board exam is a 3 hour exam of 100 marks, each individual subject. Students are advised to follow syllabus and cover each topic of every subject with proper time management so that they can easily pass 12 th class with good marks or CGPA Percentage. Marking scheme help the candidates in order to focus more on important topics which cover more weightage in the MP Board exam of 12th standard.

(a) Two passages followed by short answer type questions. (5+5)

(b) Two questions in about 75 words each. (6+6)

(c) Two short answer type questions to be answered in about 60 words each. (4+4)

  1. Grammar and Phonology        10 Marks

(a) Revision of functional grammar exercises prescribed in class 11 th to test basic grammatical concepts.

(b) Phonology (syllable division, word stress, phonemic transcription, intonation).

  1. Fiction                                            15 Marks

(a) One out of two questions in about 150 words. (9)

(b) Two out of three questions to be answered in about 60 words. (6)

  1. Drama                                          15 Marks

(a) One out of two questions in about 150 words.                            (9)

(b) Two out of three short answer questions to be answered in about 60 words each.   (6)

  1. Reading an unseen passage and poem.          15 Marks

(a) One literary or discursive passage of about 500-600 words followed by short questions. (10)

(b) A poem of about 15 lines followed by short questions. (5)

  1. Writing                                        15 Marks             

(a) One essay (200-250 words) – out of four or five topics. (10)

(b) To write a shorter composition such as an article, report,statement  of purpose (100-125) (10)
